Jordan Andres, LCSW | Therapist

I am passionate about working with adolescents and adults struggling with anxiety, depression and those who are feeling overwhelmed navigating various life transitions whether it be from losing a loved one, relocating to new school or area, becoming a new parent, or going through the process and aftermath of divorce. From personal experience, I know maintaining your identity and authenticity when life challenges are thrown at you isn’t easy and sometimes, we need a little extra support and guidance rediscovering who we are again. Since everyone is different and going through their own unique journey, I approach each person and their situation as so. I’m a firm believer that each person is an expert in their own lives and has the capability of tapping into their knowledge and utilizing their strengths to find resolutions and reach their full potential. My therapeutic approach involves providing a genuine and non-judgmental environment in which we work together as a team to explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors in order to create meaningful change and growth
"It's not about the destination, it's the journey."

A little bit about me. I was born and raised in the Northern Nevada area and attended TMCC where I obtained my associates of arts degree before switching over to the University of Nevada, Reno. I graduated with a double major in psychology and sociology at UNR in 2012. After graduation, I knew I wanted to further my education in a field that would allow me to utilize the knowledge I gained during my undergrad studies. In the summer of 2013, I made the long-term goal of becoming a licensed clinical social worker. I obtained my Master of Social Work degree from Boston University. Over my course of furthering my education and beyond, I have worked with foster parents, reunifying families after separation, individuals suffering from their first episodes of psychosis, and in an acute inpatient hospital setting.

Education and experience aside, I’m also a wife and mother of two. When we’re not running back and forth to school, swimming lessons and gymnastics, we are spending time with family, up in the mountains enjoying nature, or planning a trip to a new area we have yet to explore. I’ve found outdoor activities, embracing playtime with my kiddos, taking the occasional nap when needed, and traveling are the best ways for me to slow things down, rejuvenate, and stay present. It’s not always easy in our modern society to disconnect from our phones and be still. While this is a challenge I face daily, I strive to continue doing the work along with you to be as present and in the moment as I can and to show up for you with the best version of myself.
